Review: Anatomy of a Fall
Anatomy of a Fall is a French-English legal thriller featuring Sandra Huller, who I previously saw in "The Zone of Interest." I love it. I don't know if it's genuine - in the sense whether it portrays the French courtroom accurately - but it's a load of fun. It does make me feel grateful for the Philippines' process - direct, cross, redirect - which, though rigid and faulty at times, seems more objective than the one featured in the film. Imagine asking the suspect in the middle of another witness' testimony - that would be chaos!
Anyway, Huller is a good actress certainly, but Swann Arlaud, as her lawyer-friend, is fantastic as well. The child, Milo Machado-Garner, is great too, and just as an aside, child actors and actresses these days - not only in Hollywood but even in Philippine cinema - appear to be so much better than the ones in the past.
Anyway, it's 4/5, and I can't stop listening to 50 Cent's P.I.M.P. on repeat due to this film. Dun dun dun dun dun dun...
