On Being a Kakampink

Moving stuff from Facebook for archival purposes. I wrote this after the 2022 Philippine National Elections.

The results are disappointing (I cried!), but I’m still proud of voting who I truly believe in. This is the first time I’ve actively participated in the election process (like going to rallies, who would have thought this fat slob could do it) rather than being a pessimistic misanthrope who lumps all politicians together in one bin. Anyway, if this is the will of the Filipino people, then so be it. It is a democracy, after all. As my father told me when our presidential bet did not win during the 2010 elections: We just have to support and respect the decision of the people.

I’m very honored to have fought with and been a Kakampink through and through.

As someone proudly tattooed in themselves: No ragrets.
